The ALSC has taken a defined stance on Electoral Politics. Since the 1964 passing of the Civil Rights Bill by President Lyndon B. Johnson, African Americans have overwhelmingly voted Democrat. In the opinion of the ALSC, the Democratic Party has ignored the needs of the African American. In the opinion of the ALSC, the believes the African-American community needs to organize and establish a black agenda. We have proposed two solutions:
1. The establishment of a National Black Political Party through a National Black Political Convention. The establishment of a national black political agenda, presenting black issues. Also, promote the elections of local and state black politicians in order to create change in African-American communities.
2. Begin to promote the black agenda, through legislators and delegates. Negotiate with politicians on either side willing to assist in passing of the black agenda on a national stage.
